Would You Like to Sit Down In The Shower?
In a shower, a very helpful item to have is a bench to sit on. A bench also adds beauty and flare to your shower. For people who have trouble standing or have an injury, a bench is incredibly beneficial for washing and safety with a wet shower floor. As you can see, both the rectangular and corner benches are solid right to the ground; making cleaning your shower much easier!
We recommend both of the Dix Systems solid benches, available as a 16" Corner or 32" Rectangular bench.
These solid foam benches can be modified to fit your shower exactly - if the sides are too long, or the top is too high, simply cut it down. This is helpful for people with tighter shower space or a shower with slightly off angles. You will be able to adapt these benches by simply shimming them down.
Both of these benches are tile ready. The benches are made of a high density polystyrene giving you an absolutely waterproof and mold resistant product. It is very lightweight which makes it easy to work with. To install, use a latex modified thin-set mortar, silicone the edges, and let dry. Then you are ready to tile on top of the bench. It is as quick as that! Here is a link to the complete detailed instructions for both the rectangular and corner foam benches. You can also put one or more together for a bigger seating area, or maybe you would like a floating style bench?
Hope this started some ideas popping around your head about your new shower!
