Prefabricated Liners vs. PVC Liners
I believe the benefits of a prefabricated liner outweighs a PVC liner commonly used today. A PVC liner will inevitably have folds in the process of assembling your shower bed, which will cause water build up in your shower, and water build up is something you don’t want in your shower.
Often, we use a horizontal piece of wood to go behind the studs, this is commonly referred to as ‘backing behind the studs'. This is an unnecessary hassle, and the prefabricated OneLiner doesn’t need it.
As shown in the top photo, the PVC liner is folding and remains loose, creating an unstable on the top. The OneLiner eliminates this problem. The walls and bottom are solidly built allowing the liner to stand on its own, as shown below.
The polyethylene plastic is virtually indestructible. I also prefer the OneLiner because of its 25 year warranty. This gives me the security of knowing my shower is protected and I've chosen the right product for my project and for my family. I definitely recommend the OneLiner to anyone considering building a shower.
You should think about your investment, and know that you are protecting yourself from future damage costs and problems with a OneLiner or shower kit.
