THE FACTS

There is a widespread misconception that once a ceramic tile floor is in place, all water will be shed by the slope leading to the drain and will be removed via the drain. What is not understood is that, in fact, there is a substantial penetration of water through the grout into the mortar bed under the ceramic tile. Therefore, it is crucial that the proper liner be installed in the shower floor prior to the installation of the slope leading to the drain.

The liners currently on the market must be folded and/or seamed to fit the dimensions of the floor. This procedure can cause water to be trapped in the folds and thus not drain properly, or even possibly causing the water to seep through seams that are not properly sealed. This material is also susceptible to small pinholes that are virtually impossible to detect by visual inspection during installation, which can occur from the different trades that may come into contact during construction time; hence, the development of the OneLiner.
